Overview

With DV and our new improved VPS Hosting platform, we've been offering two different environments for virtual servers. To maximize our impact in delivering powerful technology, we have opted to move all customers to one, state-of-the-art environment.

Preparation

What do I need to do?

We will automatically migrate your IP address(es) as part of the migration process. Once migration is complete, all you will need to do is check that everything is working and enable your new backups on the new service.

Will I be notified of my migration?

Yes, we will be sending email notifications to keep you informed:

  • Approximately 15 days prior to migration
  • 7 days prior to migration
  • Same day of migration
  • Migration completion

Can I change my migration time?

If you require your migration to be rescheduled, please reach out to our support team to coordinate this change.

Changes

Will my price change?

There is no price difference between your DV and VPS Hosting offerings. You will be migrated to a VPS Hosting tier that is equivalent in price. However, any active promotional discounts will no longer be afforded once migrated to the upgraded offering.

Which VPS Hosting service am I being migrated to?

You will be migrated to a VPS Hosting service that best matches your current price and features and based on your current utilization of the DV product. Please refer to your migration notice to see which version of VPS you will be migrated to.

Data

What is being migrated?

All your websites, hosted files, IPs and databases.

What is happening to my IP addresses?

All IP addresses attached to your DV will migrate to VPS hosting. If you have more IP addresses than your target tier allows, you will maintain those IP addresses regardless of count. However, upon performing a server rebuild, the maximum number of additional IP addresses will also be reset to fit your VPS Hosting specifications.

What is happening to my backups?

Backups that were created using WHM/cPanel or Plesk will be migrated. Snapshot backups will not be migrated. The Snapshot backups service will reach its End-Of-Life (EOL) and you will no longer be billed for this service.

Will the versions of PHP or any other installed package change?

No, all packages will be migrated in-tact and will not be upgraded or downgraded as part of this migration.

Will there be downtime?

You may experience some downtime during the migration, but we are working diligently to keep any downtime under a few minutes.
