Finding the Tech Specs on New DV Servers

There are a number of different levels of the DV server. Each of these has a finite level of resources. If you're not sure what your maximum available set of resources are and you have recently purchased a new DV server, you may see our list of our DV servers with their corresponding resources. If you're not sure what version of DV you have, you can find this in your Account Center in the Server Guide section.

Finding the Tech Specs on Older DV Servers

The easiest way to find the maximum disk space or total available RAM for your DV is by using SSH commands. If you're not sure how to connect to your server using SSH, this article details how to connect to your server using SSH

Total Available RAM

  1. Connect to your server through SSH.
  2. Run the following command.
    free -m

    This will display your current memory utilization. The top number under "total" is the maximum available RAM for your server measured in megabytes.

Maximum Disk Space

  1. Connect to your server through SSH.
  2. Run the following command.
    df -h

    This will display your hard disk utilization. The top number under "Size" is the maximum available hard disk space for your server. 

Bandwidth Limit

  1. Log into your Account Center.
  2. Click the Admin button for the server you wish to find the bandwidth limit for. 
  3. In the Server Admin section, click on Bandwidth Reports.
  4. Here, you'll be able to view your total monthly bandwidth allotment for your server under "Purchased."
