For cPanel

Watch this video to learn how to create a MySQL database in cPanel.

1. Start by logging into WHM and selecting the Account Information panel. If you know the cPanel address and login information of the account for which you wish to create the database, skip to step 4.

2. Select the List Accounts panel.

3. Select the cPanel icon next to the user that you wish to work with.

Note: This article contains instructions for creating new cPanel users.

4. Select MySQL Databases from the Databases section.

5. Under Create New Database, enter a database name and confirm. You'll be transported to a confirmation screen. Select the Go Back button.

6. Fill out the database user and password info. For increased security, it's strongly recommended that database passwords be unique.

7. Another confirmation screen will appear. Select Go Back. Once there, select Add from the Add User To Database menu near the bottom of the page.

8. From the User Privileges menu, select the relevant privileges for the database user. If you are unsure of which privileges to assign, use the select all feature. Once you confirm changes, the database will be manageable. You may now use the phpMyAdmin utility on the cPanel home screen to administer your new database.
