If you are interested in using AWS SES as your primary sending method for your applications when sending email from the servers, our recommendation is to find an alternative method such as SendGrid, MailGun, SMTP Service, etc.
The reason for this recommendation is due to our experience with the strict rules Amazon places on the service. They allow for only a limited number of bounce rates, emails marked as spam, etc. If those limits are reached Amazon will discontinue the service without notice and the application is left without the ability to send emails.

If we determine that the email you send is of poor or questionable quality (for example, if it has high bounce or complaint rates, or if it contains unsolicited or malicious content), we reserve the right to pause your ability to send email.
We understand there are times when customers want to try AWS SES since their website users are registered and the likelihood of limits being reached are low. If you believe exceeding these limits are unlikely we can setup your AWS SES for use. Before we do that, we ask that you connect with your Customer Success Manager to discuss what you are attempting to accomplish and how AWS SES will accomplish your end goal.
