Service Guide

The SSL Guide gives a quick overview of the SSL certificate order, including the "common name" for the certificate, the approval email used for the order, the status and price of the order.

Install / Reinstall SSL Certificate

Provides the steps to automatically install or reinstall your SSL certificate on most services. In some cases, you will need to manually install your SSL certificate.

Make Changes to Your SSL Certificate Information

This feature will allow you to edit your SSL contact information.

When accessing the Make Changes to Your SSL Certificate Information, you may see an option to update your common name. Although this feature is available, we generally do not advise customers to change their common name, as it can cause complications to the service. If you do have an issue with the common name of your SSL (such as a spelling error), feel free to contact support by opening a support request, starting a chat, or by calling us at 1.310.841.5500.

Approval Email Address

Shows the email address used to place the order for your SSL certificate, and allows you to resend the approval email to the address if needed.

Certificate Information

Provides access to the raw text of your SSL certificate, private key, and chain certificates, along with the ability to download them via a zipped file.

To download the SSL certificate in a zipped file, click the Download button. The zip file will contain the following files ("COMMON_NAME" will be replaced with whatever you entered for the SSL certificate domain):

  • SSL_COMMON_NAME-starfield.crt (CA/Chain Certificate)
  • SSL_COMMON_NAME.crt (SSL Certificate)
  • SSL_COMMON_NAME.key (Private Key)

The raw certificate text is also available in the View Certificate Data section.
