What's Attracting Europe to the Cloud

Following in the footsteps of an increasing number of North American enterprises, more and more European enterprises are beginning to embrace the potential of the cloud as well.

Backup product and service supplier Barracuda recently conducted a survey of 550 European IT decision makers in Europe  to provide a better understanding of the main  reason(s) their enterprises turned to a public cloud.

  • 77% of respondents said they leaned on the cloud’s almost limitless storage capabilities while 57% wanted to take advantage of the storage for both backup and recovery purposes.
  • On average, respondents utilized at least two public cloud service providers in order to maximize their different strengths.
  • Almost 35% of enterprises are running their infrastructure in the cloud, with that number expected to almost double by 2022.
  • 58% respondents trust the public cloud more than they did five years ago, with 43% of them feeling totally confident that their move to the cloud is totally secure.
