The soul of every company begins and ends with the people. Once a vibrant company culture is established, it’s another task to nurture it and keep it growing with each and every new addition. Over eighteen years, Media Temple has ensured that every employee naturally fits and can help cultivate our company values. Which is why we’re very excited to announce our new Vice President of Marketing, Lou Kikos, who will oversee our marketing and communications strategy.
Before joining Media Temple, Lou held various senior leadership positions in marketing, including leading teams at Zynx Health, iRise, and CCC Information Services. He was also one of the founders of The Magis Group, a marketing and operations firm that advised private equity and venture capital clients on marketing and business strategy. We asked Lou a few questions about what attracted him to Media Temple and what customers can expect this year.
On what he likes about Media Temple:
I’ve spent over a decade in the technology sector, and Media Temple was one of those companies whose name kept emerging in a wide variety of conversations: The company’s deep ties with the tech and creative communities make its name pop up in some of the coolest places, like powering a media company’s new hot web app or hosting an agency’s Super Bowl campaign. The incredible loyalty of the Media Temple customers and the company’s lasting brand promise make it truly one of a kind – not to mention the strong, passionate team that’s in place here. I am very excited to be working with them to help Media Temple reach more customers in the U.S. and globally.
On his experience:
Marketing trends can develop quickly and it can be easy for marketers to become out of touch but with the right team in place, certain core fundamentals of marketing hold true regardless of industry type. A lot of this partly comes from leveraging data and analytical insights to see what really drives the customer’s buying decision, but, most importantly, it comes from a persistent focus on (or dare I say, an obsession with) how to contribute to every customer’s success and help them become even more successful. It’s not about chasing revenue goals – it’s about creating the best user and customer experience. It’s about the people behind the cart. It’s about solving the customer’s pain points and exceeding their expectations.
On what Media Temple will bring to customers in 2017:
Web and cloud hosting is an industry that remains in a state of rapid evolution, both in terms of technology and customers’ needs. As a result, a proper customer experience should feel more “bespoke” than “one-size-fits all”. Media Temple provides so much added value to every product that we want every customer, both present and future, to feel like their hosting solution was built just for them, perfectly matches their needs, and exceeds their expectations. With a great user experience, powerful resources, and a white glove approach to customer support, we plan on being the first and last choice for businesses of all sizes that are looking for a premium hosting experience and the peace of mind that comes with it.
