Poké-Poké

The idea was born on the way back from Hawaii where I had just introduced my wife and business partner, Trish, to poke. She was blown away by it and she’s like somebody needs to open a poke shop.

– Jason McVearry, Co-Founder

When Jason McVearry introduced his wife Trish Fortuna to poke – the Hawaiian delicacy that he loved to eat when he lived on the island – she was blown away and said that someone should really open up a poke shop in their hometown of Los Angeles. So they decided to be those people and started the now popular Venice beachside deli Poke-Poke.

Poke-Poke co-founders Jason and Trish concoct made-to-order poke; a meal that primarily consists of cubed fish – usually ahi – seasoned with soy sauce, sesame oil, onions and assorted spices. But that’s just the basics. At Poke-Poke, Jason and Trish have created dozens of original recipes and are regularly inventing new and delicious ways to serve up the dish to their “religious regulars” from Venice and beyond.
