“We needed an enterprise-class Linux platform on which to build our business. Speed, reliability, and customer service — was simple but hard to find. We found all three here. Since choosing Media Temple, we haven't looked back.”
Get your favorite OS — Ubuntu, CentOS, Debian, or Fedora — delivered in an efficient package. With SSH access, you're free to expand and customize all you want.
Some companies call it a "cloud server." We like to call it a utility VPS server with a highly tuned Linux environment. Get your choice of Linux OS — Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS or Fedora — along with full SSH and root access, in an instantly scalable, performance-driven package.
Lightning fast SAS disks with i/o isolation. Enterprise-class equipment with Gigabit ethernet. It all adds up to high-performance servers — and faster, more reliable hosting.
High-grade data center equipment means less maintenance, better reliability, and solid uptime. The DV Developer platform lives in our top-tier data centers and is powered by HP server hardware and top-quality networking equipment, which translates to better connectivity, fewer hardware failures, and a better hosting experience all around.
One common cause of server slowdowns is slow disk performance. Unlike most utility VPS platforms, DV Developer uses only high-speed RAID-10 SAS disks built specifically for data center use.
Upgrade your server from 1GB to 32GB whenever you need, with just a click. DV Developer plans can scale with your site or app, from development to production-ready, almost instantly.
Start small, grow big — or the other way around. Integrated account controls and instant provisioning give you the power to choose your service level, and the freedom to change your mind.
"Oops" happens. When it does, fix it fast with the new and improved Power Panel web interface. Create backups, reboot, repair, or rebuild — from anywhere in the world, up to 10x faster than ever before.
The easy to use PowerPanel web interface gives you the power to shift into repair mode and solve common server problems through any web browser.
Need a do-over? Optional Snapshot backups are now up to 10x faster. Want to start from the beginning? Automatically re-provision your server exactly the way it came, at any time. Just need a reboot? Stop, start and reboot your server from anywhere in the world.
DV Developer is powered by the newest Parallels Virtuozzo Containers technology — the most efficient OS virtualization available. So you get higher performance with less system overhead than other VPS providers.
Lightweight virtualization technology gives you powerful account controls, extensive diagnostic tools, and Power Panel functionality, without the resource demands of an on-server control panel. So your server's resources are totally devoted to your site or app. You also get burst-able RAM limits above your guarantees, built-in disk I/O isolation, and less bytes used for redundant OS data.
Media Temple guarantees hardware, network, and infrastructure uptime of 99.999%. If we ever fall short, you get money back. That's the DV 20/20 Uptime Guarantee.
This excludes any scheduled or emergency network, hardware, or infrastructure maintenance of which Customer has been notified or which have been made public via Media Temple announcement.
Credits: In the event that the DV 20/20 Uptime Guarantee fails to meet the specified target of 99.999% uptime during a service period, Media Temple will credit Customer 20% of service period fees for each 20 minutes of downtime, provided said credit will not exceed 100% of said service period fees. The credits set forth in the preceding sentence are Customer's sole remedy for any downtime experienced.
Downtime Credit Examples:
Example 1: A DV Managed customer paying $100/month experiences 20 total minutes of downtime within a billable service period. In this case, the Customer will be eligible to receive a service credit amounting to 20% of the fees for that service period, totaling $20.
Example 2: A DV Developer customer paying $1000/year experiences 20 minutes of downtime within a calendar month. In this case, the Customer will be eligible to receive a service credit amounting to 20% of the fees for that calendar month (1/12th of yearly fees), totaling $16.67.
Credit Requests and Expiration: Customer is responsible for reporting a downtime event and requesting credit(s) within five (5) days of experiencing a downtime event.
Credits are forfeited if Customer's service is terminated. Credits have no cash value and cannot be converted to refunds.
Force Majeure: Media Temple shall not be liable to Customer or any other person, firm or entity for any failure of performance under this Agreement if such failure is due to any cause or causes including, but not limited to strikes, riots, vandalism, fires, inclement weather, third-party provider outages, cable cuts, power crisis shortages, acts of terrorism, and or uncontrollable acts of God, or other similar occurrences; any law, order, regulation, direction, action or request of the United States government or of any other government (including state and local governmental agency, department, commission, court, bureau, corporation or other instrumentality of any one or more of said governments) or of any civil or military authority; national emergencies, insurrections, wars; or lockouts, or work stoppages or other labor difficulties; failures, shortages, breaches or delays.
Media Temple's Terms of Service Still Apply: This Agreement is a supplement to, and not a replacement for, Media Temple's standard Terms of Service, available here: http://mediatemple.net/company/legal/general_terms.php.
