EVB (Evolution Bureau) is a full-service San Francisco advertising agency specializing in high-end interactive marketing. These guys are known for their Flash work and are flat-out amazing. They’ve been an (mt) Media Temple brand partner since 2002, and two years ago asked us to host what would go on to become the largest viral microsite in history.
Nothing says Christmas quite like “OfficeMax.” Or at least not since we helped EVB and agency partner Toy, NY, launch “ElfYourself.com” during the 2006 holiday season. The microsite, which went on to win three ad:tech awards for 2007, allowed users to paste pictures of their own faces onto dancing elves, add a personal voice greeting and send it to friends. The site captured 36 million users in five weeks. The next year was even bigger. When the 2007 holiday season was over, the site had attracted over 193 million visits where users spent a combined 2,600 years on the site “elfing” themselves.
