For me when I played the arcade I had that experience of remembering what it was like to be a kid…My goal in making the film was to share that feeling with other people.

– Nirvan Mullick, Director, Caine’s Arcade

Caine’s Arcade” is an eleven minute film about a nine-year-old boy named Caine. One summer, Caine built a cardboard arcade in his father’s auto parts store in East Los Angeles.

Nirvan Mullick was the arcade’s first and, at that time, only customer. Mullick was amazed by the inventiveness of Caine’s creation and decided more people needed to know about it. So he organized a flash mob to attend Caine’s arcade and play his games. Mullick filmed the events leading up to this and the happy moments that happened next.

When completed, “Caine’s Arcade” was posted online and one day later it went viral. The film’s goal was to raise $25,000 for Caine’s scholarship fund. By the next day, $60,000 was raised. The day after that, the film received $110,000 in contributions. 3 days later, Mullick was building a foundation to help other kids.
